22/365 – Break the Pattern.
I was looking at my alarm clock timings and noticed what’s my pattern: to break that bloody pattern!
I find fundamental to break our patterns, our habits and our ways of doing if we want to create something new. We can do it starting from little things like our alarm hour and set it to funky minutes just to enjoy the difference it makes. That’s at least what I’m doing there. I don’t wake up at 6, but rather at 5:57.
We can make it with more relevant parts of our creative life: reverse our daily order of doing things, establish a habit then break it (in my case I’m challenging when I publish these posts, when I write them, how will I add something different today?), take a break, take two breaks, use the wrong tool, do it with the other hand, close an eye, write upside down…
The idea is that by making it in a different way, whatever it is, we will think about the way we usually do it and eventually will be able to challenge it and change when needed.
At what time will you wake up tomorrow?
