166/365 – Pieces of An Idea.
One way to go when stuck with your idea(s) is to take what you have and deconstruct it, basically break it into pieces.
The “thing” might not make sense by itself, but its pieces will if you look carefully.
First, they are more pieces of information than just one and they help generate new insights and ideas than the original one.
Secondly, they offer multiple points of view that you can use and generate from.
Lastly, they offer a new perspective or a new series of perspectives to start from.
I often do this exercise of trying to identify what are the different pieces that are creating my problem and try to address them separately.
This is the mental image: put all of them on your imaginary desk, look at them listen to what they are telling you, find your answers and see what emerges that’s new and unexplored. Pick them one after the other and enjoy every single aspect; put them back together, enjoy the new mix and layout, play with the new composition to see what comes out of it.
