85/365 – Never by Chance.
One of the things that I’m most fascinated by about idea generation is how casual it is sometimes the process of coming up with something.
I find that is always and never by chance, it is always a combination of luck, attention, availability, openness, work, intention.
Our role as idea generators is to be available to what will come, conscious that we cannot always design in advance what we will have in our hands. It starts by walking in the streets and observing what’s around, on the floor, about people and architecture. Every detail can reveal to be a source of something that will eventually translate into an idea and our role is to be aware observer and, mostly, collectors of these moments and insights.
The only problem might be that it is almost impossible to go back a “normal” mode of walking when you start noticing things around you. Which is not a big problem, after all.
