7/365 – Follow the Instructions.
Then there is a moment where you realize all you have to do is to follow the instructions. Indeed, your own instructions.
What you want to do, though, is to be as clear as much as you can about them, so that you can follow them and then intentionally break them.
When you do, create, dream, shoot, build…one thing a day, you have to give yourself strict rules and live with them. You can’t miss a day or a thing, you just can’t, otherwise, the whole game falls down. You can’t let it go and hope it will come back. You can’t take a break, and that constraint (read “rule” or “instruction”) will make you creative, or at least will make you accept what you have. That’s good, that’s enough. Is it?
So all you do when you are lost in the process is to go back to the instructions, follow them while re-visiting them.
1. It’s one thing a day.
2. It has to be different from yesterday.
3. It has to be original.
4. It has to have a meaning.
5. It needs to be done.
