What we were looking for is not alwasy what we have in front of us. Sometimes it’s around it, sometimes is somewhere else, sometimes is just a shadow of the real thing.
In creating, we need to focus not only on what we want but also on what might emerge from our creative process. Being and remaining open to what might be is a great way to discover new opportunities and options.
It’s like the story of the person pointing to the moon: they say the fool looks at the finger and not at the moon itself…
In creativity it is just about the same thing: if we focus mainly or too much on what we have in front of us we might miss what really wants to be seen.
